U-TOUCH Digital Library in Pader


Pader U-TOUCH Digital Library Center
The Pader Digital Library is located in the town of Pader within the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) Pader facility. The Center is open six days per week, 12 hours per day serving over 140 members per day, reaching over 1000 users per week.

Members have access to free computer training classes and the Internet for research and eMentoring support. Members connect using email or in real-time using video/audioconferencing.


Pader District in northern Uganda bordered by Kitgum to the north. The district is relatively new, having been part of Kitgum District. In December 2001, Aruu County and Agago County were carved out of Kitgum District to form Pader District. At the height of the war Pader district had 326,730 of the approximately 400,000 residents living in displacement camps.
